Sri Sri: It is appreciation of beauty...when you see something beautiful.. what happens..all the thoughts are stilled..you are not going into memory..the mind becomes silent...meditation happens. That is why temples are decorated ..the artifices are carved so beautifully.. ceilings are
painted... ..so that the mind is captured.. you enter the wow state. Unless you come in the WOW state you are living in a world that is stale, not fresh. When you adore beauty, the mind comes out of a stale mind, the consciousness is new....in appreciation of beauty..
The normal apprehension to Shringar ras - is that it leads to lust. I say the lack of shringar rasa..leads to lust. Shringar ras is related to the entirety/to wholeness. Lust is connected to a part (of body) Shringar ras is described in terms of cosmos....Devotees describe...aapke baal hai jaise ki badal...safed badal ya kaale badal yeh alag baat hai ( your hair is like clouds, white or black clouds, that’s a different thing J) (Laughter!)...aankhen jaise ki tare (your eyes are like stars).....in this way you have gone beyond lust...You can’t have lust with stars and clouds .
Shringar rasa adds enthusiasm in life. The Radha Krishna Murti captures your mind.. Shiva is called Sundaranana....the most beautiful one... it is like BEAUTY has become a face....that is Shiva ..(such a beautiful line)
Truth beauty consciousness..all are same...Satyam Shivam Sundaram Shiva is described so beautifully....he has the moon on his face... The
moon cannot sit on anyone's face...but someone face can grow to reach out to cosmos. Shiva's did.
Shringar is appreciated.... if you worship beauty..you will not want to grab it..to possess it.
Beauty is surrender...Lust is possession.
